25 years

1985 was the year I was married!

Wow, now do you marry someone due to how much to love them and can't spend your life without them? or do you hang on every breath they say.

Marriage is the toughest thing I've ever done, they say married people are happier than others, maybe so

But I now have been married 1/2 of my life!

But I do love and care about this woman I called my wife.

and this is why today we will celebrate!

POM camp, VBS and I'm on the road

The drama, the Drama, the Drama in living in a house of 3 women you get hormons but if I say it is hormonal that would be sexes, so I will call it Drama. Women are just a total different animal as when guys het mad, or even fight it is a few words and poof it is over.

Women or girls pout they hold a grudge and never ever forget. This doesn't matter if you are 10 or 50+

Example, it is 10:15 PM I'm in bed, I'm ready to do some sleeping. Curfew on the phone for the teenager is 11:15 on her cell phone. I know she is going to POM camp in the morning so if she stays up late texting then it will only effect her. I fluff my pillow and call it a good night, but NO the Older woman in the house wants to make sure the teenager does the right thing. I say I'm not going to stay up, so she huff's upstairs to do what I don't know as I know the teenager is not going to give the phone up till the 11:15 moment at the earliest. Does she stay up? Does she come back with the phone?

Changing jobs have brought a new step in myself, or it has kicked my butt again and that feeling feels good. Now like working out I'm finding muscles I havn't used in years and a few fears I hadn't felt in a long time.

The boy is gone, and I guess it was nice? Who knows but the drama was huge and I finally told  him to Man up as it was over and stop calling my house.

The wife told me to play and talk nice which I did the best I could but it was time for him to go and now there is a Trey or what I will call "THE BOY II" Who knows and life begins again

Sometimes you say the wrong things

Being  married 24 years, 11 months and a few days you would think saying something wrong would not happen, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Today I was about to take the Big Car when I noticed  the part of  the back end of the car was broken! With a ton  of help from a neighbor we were able to fix the car but then we  noticed the garage door had a nick  in the wood, and you can see how this story is headed.

But being a not very smart husband, I walk in and say WHEN DID YOU WRECK THE CAR? Now  this is where the stupidity set in.

Some  advice never accuse your wife she wrecked the car if you don't see her back into the door, knock down the house, run over the dog and you have 3 witnesses and it is on video.

Becasue having the evidence that there is house paint on the house, there is a chip out of the wood, which matches up where the paint  is on the car, and you can see how it happened. Plus she is the only one who drives the car,  but I need to find someone else to blame as I'm sure she did not do it!!!!

Back on Track

I took a few days off from the blog as I quit my job!!!
I've used words like Resigned, left, needed a change in venue, But I  and all the fear I had in leaving was one of the silliest things I've ever had, as the fear I had was nothing and it held me back for no reason.

I am bolder today than I ever have been and feel a bit of being alive.

practical jokes

I usually don't get involved with banner back in forth about practial jokes, but I did this morning which means I must write about it today.

The joke was some High School students filled an atrium up with water and put a 156 gold fish in the atrium, one for each graduate.

The kids were suspended and can't walk with their class.

Ok maybe this is wrong, and it is wrong, but practial jokes as long as the parties are willing to pay the price is all part of growing up!

From digging up bushes in front of the President of the University house and planting them in the Fraternity house, to helping throwing in the BIG COW in front of the Steak House into collage lake, and painting I"M A ALPHA GAM on it's ASS it was fun, and the nights we did those pranks is still fun in my head.

Lets see we did get arrested for the BIG COW thing, but never charged as we had to go swimming and pull the cow out. We put it on the trailer and put the COW back in front of the steak house. For about a year though the I"M A ALPHA GAM was still on the Cow's ASS, which was actually better of a joke!

We couldn't get the paint off, but the publicity the steak house got increased his business!!! EARLY PR!

The bushes wound up in the school paper, on WHO stole the bushes, and to this day that mystery never has been solved!

Storms, sales and POM!

It seems like my life is surrounded by drama, the Drama of get more sales! The Drama of there are STORMS in your area, and then there is the Drama of the POM SQUAD!

Does the world just revolve around Drama?
Today's news is Will Labron play well tonight in Boston?, Storms hit Oklahoma, Schools are closed due to power outages and the list goes on and on.

There is a fine line between patience and laziness, but the results are totally different.

In the world of Lion's I don't think the King of the beast worry if anything is going on around him, he is focused and ready to pounce again, but maybe not today.

Make the Drama go away and look at the real situation and should you fret or not?

Pillow

Becasue of company and too many people in the house, we had to sleep in other area's of the house. I wound up on the couch, which was fine as I took my pillow with me and I slept great.
Well last night I went to bed and my pillow was gone, I didn't know where my pillow was. But I was tired and figured I would sleep just fine with this new stranger I put my head on.

Na Na! after about 30 min trying to find a comfortable spot, I could not get comfortable, so I went out on a search to find my pillow! I found it behind the couch I slept on the night before.

But the question I want to ask is why?
Why is the pillow or your favorite pillow so important to you?
I see people flying with their pillow?
It is always in the car when you travel?
I have shipped pillows back to people!

So what is it with a pillow that makes us so close to each other?

Is it the drool?
They talk about bed bugs, is the family just waiting to be ONE in the middle of the night?

I guess is Linus can have his blanket, then everyone else should have their pillow!!!

Life

Today is a bit somber, maybe I'm thinking? maybe I'm tired? or maybe I just have that buzz feel and not much emotion at the moment.

I want to be juiced, I want to feel the pressures I put on myself, and it is just not there. I should feel the pressure with work, kids, retirement, marriage but I'm just with drawn at the moment.

I have tons of ideas but can't seem to stop the train long enough to work on any of them.

Doing the Curly Shuffel

I take my girls (My daughter and a friend) to Pom Practice everymoring at 6:45 I leave and we arrive at 6:58, just like a conductor on a train, I run a tight shift!

But if you really want to be scared and live on the edge is to drop them off, and try to leave out of the parking lot making a left turn, as ALL these LATE Pom girls or parents are driving like a NASCAR driver trying to get into the parking lot before the, you are late sign comes out!

Wow I can tell you, you take your life into your own hands!

Made it again today, but there was a second that I was not sure if I was going to be able to keep my front bumper!!!

We went to his families house for dinner and met the whole family!

Thank God I'm a social being as I might of hid in the corner.

It was nice, and I got to see a bigger opinion of my thoughts! (try to figure what I just said???)

Cage Fighting

I went this weekend to my first Cage Fight!

It makes me wonder if the Romans went to the Collisium so they can see a Gladiator fight? As these men would hit, and street fight, but the audiance would yell and scream the names of the fighter.

In Roman times the women bared themselves to the Gladiator, in Cage Fighting, nothing is bared, but the dress is very short or leaves little to the imagination, other than trying to get a peek.

Tatto's and T-shirts we also part of the experience, and the night was capped off with a fight in the crowd!

I'm sure other than a few people who had Comp tickets, that most wardrobes were purchased at Wal-mart as this seamed where the crowd was headed.

And Beer and lots more Beer!

I'm not saying I will never go again, as the people watch was very good, and the fights were not horriable. But to see two humans being put in a six sided ring, to beat the living daylights out of each other is a take in moment, and the wonder I have is why?

Boxing is a sport and there is talent which goes with this. Wrestling is also a talent, as well as the martial arts. But this was back street, bar fighting, but the one thing I thought was amuzing was before each round started the tapping of hands to wish your opponet good luck, and when the bell rang at the end of each round, the person who was on top, ussally helped the guy on bottom up!

Go figure???

The feel of pure frustration!

When you are not inspired they tell you to go get inspired. When you don't feel like you have achieved something they tell you to set higher goals to reach. And when they say you have no one to blame but yourself, is this true?

A steady pace in a direction is suppose to win the race, but when you feel like the road you are running might be in the wrong direction. When do you stop and turn around, and if you do stop to reconsider does time pass you by and maybe you were on the correct road it was just dim at this point.

How do you know?, and where do you start?

Do you start with yourself, meaning lose weight, and work on the internal self?
Do you start with your job, and quit and go look for something else? or do you look for a job while you are employeed and now you are doing the same thing, but at a different company. Is this what you want?
Or do you just don't do anything and this is the best it is going to get?

I don't think so, but I don't know how to fix what ever is wrong

Respect and Attitude

I teach in my home the two important items which everyone in the world needs to work on daily, which is RESPECT and ATTITUDE!

But what happens when someone in your family, but is close to your family does not believe in this same theroy?

Do you say they are not welcome? Do you try to change them? or do you just state your belief system towards them and hope they will learn?

This is my next challenge, as it isn't every year you get to start over, but the oldest one gets this chance, and it is her place to step out and show this Respect and Attitude as the back seat child will watch and learn.

Golf, Aida, and CLEAN THAT ROOM!

What a weekend, it started with a baseball game, you know the game I have to take my daughter to so she can see the BOY play first base. He played well, dropped his elbow, but who will listen to me??, and did an all arm swing, but he made contact dirctly to the 2nd baseman and was out. Then there was a second game, where he did not play, but I got to watch the game anyway as I'm a good father and like sitting under trees on the ground. (Hey it was baseball wasn't it??)

Then it was Farmers Market, and home to Clean rooms where the youngest hides things under her bed and says it is clean, if she worked as hard at cleaning as she does at hiding it would be very clean.

Sunday was Aida where they don't belive in reincarnation at a Christian school

It is Pom at its best, Yesterday was the big tryout, the big scary moment.

This morning it was pins and needles and hoping and saying false prayers of things you will give up is she makes it!!!

I almost ordered myself a drink at the bar I was having lunch at when I heard the good news.

She made it, the stress, the strain and all that goes into Tryouts are over!

This week in my life we have POM TRY OUTS!!!!

POM tryouts is everything in the house, POM keeps us focused on school, Pom keeps us with the right set of friends, POM keeps us in shape, etc, etc, etc.

So to say the stress level is low in the house, would be a poorly spoken.

I will keep you informed how we do as it is a family issue, but we now know our POM routien it is now the Hip Hop we are working on tonight.

It still might work?????

A couple of weeks ago I purchased one of those toppsy turvey tomato plants where you plant the tomato plant upside down.

Well plant number ONE is DEAD!

It might be that I over fertilized it? it might of froze? a Bird might of eaten it? I just don't know, except the plant is dead.

This upcoming weekend I will buy another plant and put in there. but as Mr. Barnum said "A sucker is born every minute!"

Good Friday

It is good friday and we are working again! Out of the 27+ years of working in the graphics industry we don't take Good Friday! Everyone else does, but we don't?

The phones will not ring unless it is a client calling us from home. It is always been that way!

Now I know what it was like in the time of Moses when he took the Children of Isral out of Egypt!

The Children were slaves and the Egyptions got to stay home and play as the others work!

Friends & divorce

Last night I had a beer with a friend who is going thru a divorce! I've learned a long time ago what I see on the street is not always what goes on behind close doors.

I try not to pass judgement, but I'm a better listener.

I look out for the kids and if they are sane and normal once this is over than it is OK.

Life is hard, and we all have are crap to deal with as no one is perfect, and the people these people will meet in the futer there is crap there also.

I wish them the best and as I say "After all the great SEX you have, sooner or later you have to talk to them!"  Good advice

Lost Items

Why is it clothes goes away, why is there ashoe on the road? What happened to the other shoe? The sock in the dryer? What happened to the other sock?

I think it is due to Children, I think children loose these items, as I've looked for shorts, I've looked for sweats and I've looked for POM pants, and today we couldn't find a shoe!

What is there to talk about today?

Life if funny, I have two girls and a dog which is all female, and when everything is in hormonal balance the house is full of laughter and pure sillyness which is the best, but get this balance out just one bit, life can go to hell in a basket.

Things are good at the moment as we prepare for Tryouts, and the littlest one does her math which she is finally getting.

God I love them both (most of the time!!!)

Working with your Father

My Dad is 83 year of age, now don't let the number worry you as at 83 he is just as sharp as he was in his 40's and he gets around just as well. But working with a 83 year old person it sometimes you have to laugh or you will pull your hair out.

Saturday last I was needing to borrow a tool of his. (FIRST MISTAKE!) As I took the tool I noticed it didn't work as well as I thought it should and after looking at it, I knew it was not right.

Becasue I know my Father so well I took it back to him so if anything went wrong he knew it then and not later. (Been there done that!) As my father was trying to adjust this tool, I kept telling him that the screw was stripped and we needed to change out the screw. 45 min later and the tool was now totally taken apart and all over his truck bed he say's "Here is the problem this screw is stripped and we need the change it out!!!

I guess at 50 you are still the BOY!

1 trillion Dollars, I don't even know if I know how many zero's that is, but that is what Congress passed on to us, as American's is 1 Trillion Dollars, and I heard a number as it will save a 100 Billion Dollars, which is what spend a Trillion to save a Billion, isn't that like 10%?

Spring Break

Back in my Day, what a crock that statment is!!!!

Back in my day, well bucko My Day has long gone. But what about Spring Break?

In collage we went crazy and went to either Florida or South Texas, but now Seniors in High school do the same? Not real comfortable about that trip, and I guess the collage trip is fine, I think? My day is coming!!!

But I notice family's take off on a vacation and they go. We were going to do the same but I didn't plan ahead and could not find anything, so here we sit making up things for our kids to do.

But what is wrong with that?

My kids and others always want to be entertained, why can't we just let them go outside with a stick and play outside?

Spring Break is always fun, but I don't understand why everyone feels like they have to take a vacation?

Maybe I'm wired different???

Being a Father is not easy, you are a cop most of the time, you are a loving person some of the time, and if you have fun and laugh and do your thing then you are WEIRD!

Being on time and doing the right thing is a requirment in our house, (as it should be in everyone's house!) But having children puts a dim light on being on time, and doing the right thing.

Oh no it isn't that we don't try to do the right thing, but the herding of cats would be easier!

My oldest will have to curtail her conversations with the BOY, as I can't afford the minuets she puts on her cell phone.

Life is hard and next week is spring break and I need to figure a place to go for the family

Her Birthday

Yesterday was my daughters 15th birthday, and in those 15 years she has gone from hanging out with DAD to looking fantastic when she puts on some make up and a dress!

I'm just not ready!

There is a song by someone and the line is She is about to leave and there is no room in that car even if she asked me to come! And this will come sooner than I ever want to happen.

Yes we fight, we push each others buttons but she is really the greatest kid and for her to like a boy and ignore her family just kills me inside.

So I work and come home to see her texting and talking to friends, Dad Worries about grades and friends.

But it all seems to work out OK, for now!!!!

Various thoughts are running thru my mind today as it was a very wierd and wonderful weekend!

My oldest just turned 15, and this bothers me more than I will ever let her know!
and the BOY keeps hanging around, and I need to get her to move on with this as she doesn't need to sit home and play barbies, but he just rubs me the wrong way as he puts his hand on her knee! I might put my hand on HIS knee and see how he feels about this?

More thoughts why does a restroom have the toliet seat sitting in the corner of the room why the potty itself is open? Lets mark this up to they wish they had never done that!!!!

Why is it when you have 15 - 15 year old girls over for dinner and to celebrate, I have to keep reminding myself, THEY ARE ONLY 15!!!!

Who's idea was it to start the day with the pretty blond on a week full of interviews? I feel sorry for the next person!!!!

The Boy Returns

Just as I thought it was safe to go back to a normal life, the BOY shows up at my house again. He seems to be a pretty nice kid, but he is still a kid I watch like a hawk.

We went to the batting cages as he plays baseball and he did pretty well, my daughter go in there also and she did very well since she had not seen a softball in awhile. And for myself I got in the cage and hit maybe 3 out of 10 and those 3 might of gotten out of the infield but I doubt it!

My daughters birthday is a week from today and her comment was she wanted to spend the day with the BOY!

Winter Oylimpics

Does anyone really care about the Winter Oylimpics, growing up we had the USSR and  they were the power house, with Norway and all the other cold countries in the world, and to beat the USSR it was a thrill as the United States was always in compitition with the USSR and we always knew the Russian judge cheated, and their missiles were pointed in our direction and we slept knowing that two leaders had their hand on the button, and we practiced Disater drills.

So when I see the United States win gold or any of the other medals do we care?

I like watching a few of the traditional winter sports, but roller derby on ice? I'm not saying Apollo Ono isn't good, but we are fighting Korea, who cares!

And when did shuffle board on Ice not have a drink involved?

The Button

I want to know who was the Son of a Bitch who came up with the idea of putting a button on the inside of mens pants, you know the one, the button to tighten the pants just a bit, then you can use the hook and then you zip your pants up, before you put on your belt.

This person had to be a person playing a joke or a MAD woman as how many times do you drink a bit too much coffee and you run to the bathroom for a bit of relief, you undo the belt, unzip the pant, undo the hook and you are ready for the big AHHHH, when the BUTTON is still holding the pants up and now you are about to have a hernia as you have to stop everything to unbutton the BUTTON and not embarras yourself while you are in the bathroom.

Growing up Crumugeon

I probably miss spell the word Crumugeon, but it is such a great word! It pictures up this nasty face, then horried emotions and it is also just a fun word to say. CRUMUGEON!!!!

Now I'm a happy person and I'm my best when my feet hit the floor, and once I have my morning ritual I'm ready for the day, my mind is clear, my eyes are open and I'm ready to take on the day without a care in the world.

But my daughter is another status also, as well as my wife. Mornings to them are HELL they don't feel good, they don't want to get up and it is a slow drain on time for them to get a hello or hi! Small case due to the way they feel!

So what make a person happy in the morning verses a CRUMUGEON in the morning?

I say clean living, but I don't think this is a science fact? So it must be the way one rest or sleeps durning the night as I'm OUT, and both my daughter and wife struggle to go to bed, now they both will stay up all night if need be and I want to go to sleep early??

Its a NEW day its a new life

I want to feel again, not personally as we work on this daily, but I want to feel that passion in my job, I want to feel the ugh, I want to feel I have a reason to get up and kick ass again. Nothing seems to motivate me as I work for a company which is self defeating, but why don't I leave?

It is probably fear, but today is a new Day and I will start moving my items home starting this weekend and will start cleaning and working out of my home office with in a few weeks to see if I can change a few items.

How does it happen to go brain dead or no passion in the work place?

A couple of thoughts and one is sticking  around too long, like the old furniture you just expect it to be there and sure enough those comfortable shoes are sitting right there.
But the second is the lack of faith in the work place.

Gitomer says if you don't have faith in your work place then get a new work place as it is not the company's fault it is your fault.

I think this is where it is at.

I don't know when it happened but it did. I don't know how it happened but it did, and I don't think it is going to get any better either?

I love music, I love all kinds of music and the groups I like are vast and I dislike very few bands or artitst. Until we get that SCREAMING GUITAR

And what ever nerve I have they are standing on my last one when it comes to a screaming guitar.
Currently I have almost 8700+ songs on my Ipod and I have about 200 of those songs I have to delete due to that damn guitar.

So my question are the bands or artist covering up lack of talent with a screaming gutitar?

What ever happened to them?

What ever happened to them, you know the other sock? When I bought them there were two, and now there is only one. Do socks cry out for their other mate? Do they get upset when we put togather a black and a dark blue togather, do they fight? or what happens, it is like the one shoe rule on the road what ever happened to the other shoe? and why is there only one shoe?

We have a basket which has only one sock in the basket and it is full of non matched socks and what ever happened to the mate?

We never seem to miss the ice with the scotch or the rum with the coke or the ball and the glove, but when it comes to an item which keeps us warm and is part of the dress atire then what ever happened to them?

50th Birthday

Well today is the day and as much as I might of wanted it not to come, there is one thing you can't stop which is TIME!

So here I am 50, 25 pounds over weight and working in a place I need to say Thank you to and then move on!

What holds me back?
Why havn't I made the next step?

Fear I think, no I know it is fear.

But like the mouse in WHO MOVED MY CHEESE it is time to make the move and find NEW CHEESE!

But today I'm going to set and enjoy my old stale cheese for no other reason than it is my BIRTHDAY!!!

This is IT!

Today is my last day to be in my 40's and reflecting on the last 10 years were they successful, great or what?

The Victories are my children, as the last one was born 10 years ago, and the oldest will now be 15 and this time has flown by with tears, laughter, anger and suprises and I cry inside knowning I only have maybe 4 more years with my oldest if I'm lucky!

But was the 40's any good for myself?

My wife and I struggle and those laughs have been few and far between, and to hear her laugh now makes the whole house feel up with warmth, but they are not very often. As for me though it has been a huge struggle in business, from the beginning of the 40's having a child, and a new business with new partners and expectations were great, but greed came into the picture and one of the partners took the dream away due to his greed of not only money, but women. This put everyone into a tail spin financially. But once getting stable there was the sell of the largest piece of business, to be taken away due to mistakes internally, and finally the economy took away much of any steam which was starting to build.

So I toast the 40's and close this chapter in my life book and I mark them as experience, not success but experience to pass on and to move forward.

Where most people built in their 40's their base for their fortunes, I'm still trying to build the platform of mine, but I celebrate the 50's even though I'm a bit heavier, not as fast but more wiser.

It has been a hard 10 years but I have my family, I have my parents still and I still have opportunity and this is what I build on.

My youngest plays basketball and it is a sport which I coached very well. I have the Knute Rockney mentallity which is to run thru all walls, with or without cost?

She is not the worse player out there, nor is she the best. She can play defence, but offence is a ticket to see the game as she stands or moves very little. I feel she wants to be a point guard and run the show, but her talent level is not where it needs to be to do this.

Last night she actually skipped down the court to play defence, now in my years of coaching I have seen the curly shuffel, I've seen a player give back the ball to the offence player who just dribbled it off her foot, and I also have seen cartwheels. So seeing my daughter skip back on defence I should not be to upset about?

Now I'm not one of those people who belive it is OK to loose as long as you are having fun, but in her case I might make an exception?

Her talent lies in her voice and the stage. She expresses herself the best when she sings and she sings it all from Lady GaGa to almost anything else. If she knows the words she expresses it loud and clear.

But is the stage her court?

Time will tell and even though I get very frustrated watching her play basketball she makes me happy most of the days!

My daughter is growing up!

A BOY has invaded my house, now I have had boys call the house, and I have had texts to my house from boys, but this one came into my house and was under my own roof, and he came with presents.

I'm struggling to know what I really feel about this? To see my daughter smile uncontrolable is a view which every father wants for their children, but to know she is 14 and in 3 1/2 years she is gone to collage and gone for good hurts.

I also know at my age what a 9th grader in school also wanted, and a kiss and cop a feel was the agenda of the day, and I apoligize to those women today, but names will be with held! And I will not allow this to happen on my WATCH!

He brought his parents over which was nice and I could tell they were good people which helps the sting, but this boy was under my roof, holding my daughters hand and there is not enough chores around the house to keep me busy while he was there.

One of us needs to grow up, and maybe it is me?
